G37 Coupe, Struggling with wheel diameter/offset and tire options

Hey everyone.

I'm currently sitting on 20" GTR wheels. Current ride height from floor to fender is 26.75, looks okay, not trying to have a stance car for my daily.

I'm definitely going to sell them and go down to a smaller wheel but bigger tire. The offset is so harsh in the rear I poke 3/4 of an inch roughly. Looks okay, wheels are bad *** but I just cant stand how it looks on my car. No rubbing currently, also annoying having to avoid every bump and pot hole.

I currently run 245/35r20 in the front and 275/30r20 in the rear, I miss the peace of mind with my old 45 sidewall, looked horrible but even when I was slammed it was comfortable on ****ty tires, wasn't scared of potholes like I am now. I don't mind running a square setup even though I'm RWD. I was planning on a 18x9.5 or 18x10.5, or 19x9.5. I'm really struggling on the offset, I feel like there isn't enough information on the offsets to get the fitment flush or semi flush to the fender without it rubbing. Anyone else running these wheels have good pictures with their offset, if I'm missing good examples on the wheel pic forums, could I get a link to some? I want to avoid spacers, I know they're proven to be safe and yadayada but I'm good personally. Suggestions? Should I stay staggered or go back to squared? Disadvantages? Thanks everyone.
