G37-S vert - replacement pads and rotor sizing

just bought the car and it definitely needs pads, and likely rotors as well. because it's the S trim with 4 piston front brakes, are there specific rotors and pads i need to purchase? i found this kit which is extremely well priced compared to other kits, even the blank kits.

https://www.lmperformance.com/102017...ront-rear.html

or should i look at something like this since is states specifically Akebono brake service kit. it also states the rotors need to be painted, and i am unfamiliar with that requirement.

https://www.z1motorsports.com/brake-...255de1c6000e05

i'm looking for something that will give me good performance without breaking the bank. this car will be driven by my wife and I about 3-4k miles a year during nice weather and will never be tracked, just occasional spirited driving.

They both appear to be unpainted. Depends on which state you leave in if it's worth it. Most oem parts come unpainted

i live in KY, but the car will be stored in the garage in the winter except for the occasional trip to the store to give the battery and alternator a charge. the car probably won't even see much rain unless i get stuck in a pop-up storm during nice weather.

are the Z1 parts the better deal here for what i need? im not even sure if the LMP equipment is for the Akebono kit.

If your car will be sitting for extended periods of time I would strongly suggest you invest in a battery maintainer (I have several of
these these
). These cars gets extremely fussy when voltage isn't up to snuff and being you have a 'Vert, they get even more "cranky."

As for brakes, it appears the Z1 kit is nothing more than what you would find at a typical autp parts chain store which, based on your anticipated usage, should do you just fine. Unless you want the "bliing" the drilled/slotted option is pointless. Then again, you could always just stick with OEM...

Will you be doing the work yourself?

ill probably have a shop do it because I'm short on time with a 10 month old and 4.5 year old, and i need an alignment as well. i think i will opt for the Z1 package because after pricing out parts from the chain stores the cost will be substantially less for higher quality parts. well, idk about the Z1 rotors, but i've been really impressed with the stoptech stuff i've used in the past on a civic Si. with Z1 i can get the rotors, sport pads, fluid, and akebono caliper hardware shipped for $500. chain stores its looking like $600+ with no caliper hardware or fluid.

the battery charger looks like a great idea, but i'm afraid to leave it on unattended with a family, pets, and an attached garage on a newly built house. I'll probably just try to get the car out once a week for a short drive, but you make a good point with the battery and the vert. from my understanding battery and electric fluctuations do not play nicely with the vert and its timing which can cause the need for a vert top computer relearn.

Sounds like you have a solid plan in place. I would still give serious thought to the maintainer but you have to decide what you are comfortable with.

Good luck, keep us updated, and a belated welcome to the forum.
