Poll on brake pads for DD/Spirited Sports

As it states car is DD (sport brakes) with light spirited. Looking for:
Slight improvement over stock as far as bite/performance in a street situation.
Same or less dust than stock:

5.0
Posi quiets

5.0 are dusty.

[edit]First-hand experience, not Internet wisdom.

StopTech Street 308 provide very good performance and low dust. StopTech Sport 309 have even better bite with moderate dust (I would say no worse than stock). They switched the names a few years ago, so I'm providing the part numbers for an apples-to-apples comparison.

I highly recommend the 309 Sport pads, which I ran for years on both my G's. I have the 308 Street pads on my wife's FX, and I wouldn't call them sporty but they were still a significant improvement over stock.

So you feel the street, 308 dust less than the 309 correct

My factory Akebono pads have been solid. Replaced them about 2 years ago, no issues.

There's a conspicuous absence of an actual poll in this polling thread.

I don't have an opinion one over the other, but I've had a set of Akebono sport pads sitting here for a while, waiting for a spring install. Based entirely on spirited keyboarding skills , I was back & forth between those and the Hawk HPS.

And I've come across a lot of opinions that the Hawk 5.0 create a lot of rail dust, but IDK first hand.

Yes. Less dust but also less bite. A great all-around pad, but I would still recommend the 309 if you drive your G hard as your title and initial post seem to indicate.

Thanks for the thoughts. It seems 309's are the general go to. I may end up with them

Centric rotors (with black hubs) and Akebono act ceramic pads are the best grip for the buck.
You could do front and rear for like $250
The most important thing to do is wear the pads in correctly once your install them. It makes a huge difference in the long term performance of the pads, otherwise next year youll be replacing the pads again because they vibrate too much with horrible grip. Doesnt hurt to find a empty highway every few months to wear the pads onto the rotors to keep them fresh
