Question Michelin PSS for $82 a pop - too good to be true?

Has anyone dealt with these guys?

https://www.vulcantire.com/tire_deta...rt_t.htm_14169

They got Michelin Pilot Super Sport (G37 sedan size at least - 255/50/18 - didn't check the coupe) for $82 a pop. That's half the usual price.

Wondering if it's too good to be true. Maybe the tires are hella old?... I dunno.

I would ask which version of the Super Sport. PSS4 is the latest model. I paid about $1000 for a set of PSS3 to fit 19" late last year. They might be offering PSS2?

Interesting. Didn't realize PSS2 was a thing. All I see on michelin.com is just that - Pilot Super Sport.

P.S. Fjords, am I right? Just sayin.

Oh you mean that could be Pilot Sport PS2. Right on, I don’t want those. I’ll give them a call on Monday.

My my tires are still OK, need rotation, but at that price...

Maybe this price isn't such a *huge* anomaly.

https://www.google.com/shopping/prod...chelin%2037359

That particular tire in that size (225/50/18) is listed at fairly low prices.

here's another place, $105 a pop:

https://simpletire.com/michelin-225-50zr18-37359-tires

Even tirerack has them listed at $161, which is a far cry from $250+ I was expecting to pay. Albeit with "closeout, fewer than 6 available", whatever that means.

Everyone could be putting obsolete tires on clearance since PSS4 is now the current model.
