Exclamation Tire Size Option (Lexus)

Guys my dad needs new tires on his 2013 Lexus ES300h - the car comes stock with 215/55/17 - I wanted to get him something a bit wider since the 215's are super narrow, I'm looking at 225/50/17, 235/50/17 and 235/55/17. Which ones would work best? Note his car is FWD.

Depends on the OEM wheel width, if it's a 7.5" a 225 would be the widest I'd run.

This would be a good choice. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes The circumference will be extremely close to factory.

Why do you need wider tires? Looks? Additional traction? I'd say buying wider/stickier tires on a hybrid kinda defeats the purpose of economy, especially with tires that may make it ride more harshly.

A 7" width really limits you, that 215 is about as much as I'd run. If you want a wider contact patch I'm afraid new wheels need to be in your shopping cart too

For what it is worth I ran 245's on my OEM 7" wide Lancer GTS rims last winter. Didn't have an issue.

If you want extra width the closest you'd get to OEM diameter would be 235/50/17.

The problem with a 235-width tire on a 7" wheel is sidewall flex. That'll cause sloppy turn-in and maybe a little wander.
