Strut lower 19mm nut stripped

I was changing to coilover yesterday and the 19mm nut is rounded. I try using a smaller socket and hammer it in but not working. It's on there pretty good. What's another option to loosen this out? I finished all 3 except for my front passenger side. Front driver side was easy to take off But not this one.

You should use an open end wrench on the back side of that bolt (don't remember the size, possibly a 21mm), but now w/ a rounded head you'll probably need an extractor socket, but still back it up w/ that open end wrench when using it. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hanson-39...Piece/16494336

Yo

Yeah I think it's a 21mm. The driver side I didn't even use an open end wrench to hold it down to loosen the nut. I used my impact and it came off fine. Can I use the open end wrench and try to loosen that side and hold the nut with a socket that can fit

You can give it a shot, but it's torqued down pretty good, over 100 ft lbs IIRC, doubt you'd get it from the back side.

ok i got the nut off good finally after breaking a cracking a breaker bar and had to buy another one. Problem now is i cant hit the bolt out.... like it slide through at the end but no matter how much i hit it, it still wont slide all the way out, like there some tension. can someone please help me? I am stuck with just one front passenger side that need to be done. here are some pic...

Its like its not straight.. and have tension on the suspension. How can i hit it out? I use a screw driver and hammer and wack wack wack, nothing and still stuck like this.

Driver side came off easily.
But here are the passenger side look like...its not even rusty. only has 29k miles on the car.

Got it done

I got it done! I had to loosen the sway bar end link nut on the driver side and passenger side to release the tension!

Yeah, you didn't mention you still had the end link connected to the sway, you should remove that first, you can bind up that ball joint and even snap them. Hopefully your end links are still ok. Glad you got it removed.

Sorry to reopen an old thread but ..

Sorry to reopen this one but I've run into the same issue with the 19mm. Where'd you get your replacement nut from? I have my new coilovers in and everything put back except for the 19mm nut I stripped.

Thanks!

Thanks! I tried the Nissan and Infiniti dealers in my area and they don't have a replacement on hand so I ordered one. ðŸ‘
