Can you install 380mm rotor w/stock Akebono

Hello,

Slowly installing bigger brake setup for some track time. I have an option to get some 380mm rotors now before the 6 pot calipers come in August. Question is can I install the rotors and use my current stock Akebono calipers in the meantime?

You'd have to fabricate a bracket to remount the caliper further from it's current mount point, this assumes the rotors are the same thickness. And you probably wouldn't be able to slide the caliper all the way down onto the rotor and get 100% pad coverage since they were designed for 355mm rotors. You'd probably have a portion of the top of the pad that wouldn't be scrubbing the rotor.

Rotor

Thank you, I was wondering about the mounts. Fabrication is not in my skillset. I will just wait till it's all ready to go.

Power slot use to have brackets for this very thing. I am not 100% sure it comes by itself though. Check their site for relocation brackets

Have you though about wheel clearance? You're moving the caliper radially out an inch, is there that much existing clearance with the barrel?
