Can anyone tell me what part this is that is leaking and needs fixing. I am guessing compression rod. Not 100 sure
The car is giving me a squeaky and kind of clunky noise from the front passenger side where this part is.
Any help is appreciated
I have a 2010 g37 sport coupe

Tie rod ends directly control your steering. The rubber boot houses grease which lubricates the joint as it operates. Somehow yours got damaged or punctured resulting in loss of grease and debris contamination. Eventually (if not already) the joint will be dry, coupled with the contamination will wear out prematurely.
If a tie rod end breaks, you have no steering control. It won't fail over night, but better to get it replaced sooner than later. Don't forget to get a proper alignment too.

I've always practiced replacing them in pairs. That's how I leaned it should be done optimally. It's not absolutely necessary, but they're not expensive and the job's not that tough so there's no reason not to do both.
As they said tie rod ends... I realized one of my driver side swaybar end links* was broken last month so I ordered a new one for each side and changed them out even though only one that was broken.
*I'd recommend doing the same thing with the tie rids ends as well.

^^That's not a tierod end, that's a swaybar end link.
@BB, Is there particular justification for replacing both tierod ends if only one is damaged?
Edit, I suppose one such reason is the duplicate cost of a necessary alignment following replacement. Other than the additional parts cost, labor shouldn't be more than 1/10hr to install another tie rod end.

I tore one of these in another car I owned changing out some control arm bushings. Had to press it in and it had a grease fitting to grease em...the other day I was under the G and it didnt look very full...is there an add on fitting or is it another one of these "lifetime" deals....

Thanks everyone for the help.
Would the tie rod ends also cause the squeeking and klanking noise. Or will their most likely be a bushing busted as well. Ordering tie rod ends today.
It sucks because i just got an alignment done last week after installing upper control arms. Oh well joys of car ownership.

Could possibly cause the noise. If you got it aligned a week ago, the shop might redo it for you. However if they notice new parts that are the cause of it needing realignment they may decline. Ask nicely and be upfront with them.
