G37S Sedan Stock wheels powdercoated

Has anyone tried to powdercoat the stock G37S sedan wheels yet? I'm thinking that maybe if I do them in that dark charcoal, they will look pretty good. Thoughts, or pictures?

I haven't but there have been several sets posted in the Classifieds. The ones I've seen were coupe wheels, haven't noticed otherwise colored sedan duckfeet or 17s.

I'm just not totally thrilled about stock design on these wheels, more front ones than rears. Rears look good due to offset, but front ones look a little flat. I think maybe powder coating them black or dark charcoal will give it a bit more dimension, make them look deeper than just in silver.

Not worth spending the money to powdercoat, IMO. Like you said they're not a great-looking wheel to begin with. Save your money, grab a set of coupe 19s if you want a similar but better-looking wheel

The wheels I really want are Avant Garde M550s, but they are around 1300 dollars for a set, and probably will look weird on a car that's not lowered, and I will have buy new tires. That's a really big difference in pay.

I actually managed to find the pictures of what the wheels will look like powder coated black. Looks pretty nice in my option, definitely hides a lot of the odd design.

at one point i was thinking of doing this, but not black, a dark grayish gunmetal or something, but just never got around to it. I actually like the stock wheels more than i dislike them...but to a degree i think that upping your rims would warrant new tires, lowering just to really wrap up the package so to speak, so there is some investment there...

I've actually called around, and it will cost roughly 600-700 dollars to powdercoat the wheels. I've decided to scrap the idea. It is not that much more to buy a nice set of 19s, so once the tires wear out, I will get new set of wheels, and tires. I've actually been eyeing Concept One CSL 5.5 in matte black.

I called a few local places today and they're $70 to $90 a wheel depending on the coats and paint process so Id keep checking depending on how much you're looking to spend.

They are definitely trying top rip you off. Generic colors should be around $300 in Socal. But regardless where you are, it should not cost that high. I honestly would suggest you just save the money and get new wheels later on. You won't be able to recoup the cost when you sell them and look rice if your car is 4x4 status.
