Help! Car feels like it's going all over the place!
2011 G37 Journey sedan just put new tires on about a couple days ago, car feels like it's going all over the place at highway speeds, I just bought the car 25k miles on it and on the way back from out of town where I bought it from and the way back everything seemed fine just it felt like it was going all over the place. Called infiniti scheduled appt and I knew I needed tires so I added new tires and I asked dicount tires to check old tires for signs of aligment wear and he stated no it was just regular wear and tear. So replaced the tires and went to the dealer the next day they determined everything was fine and said the tires should of helped and they updated my transmission (7speed) with the recent software. I'm still experiencing the car on the highway like I need to really steer and it feels like It's going all over the lane, I'm planning km going to check alignment tomorrow maybe that's the problem any other recommendations?

What brand and model tires did you get BTW?
Help! Car feels like it's going all over the place!
Tires are all the same size oem size from discount tires, my tires are all season tires Arizonian Brand by cooper tires all season from what I heard all good reviews from them, I was going with kumho a but they were out and they told me these are better and they have me a good deal for them since they didn't have the kumho a but I'm glad I didn't get them because these are way better quality. I know it's not a known brand but I went online and heard all great reviews about them, and the car felt like that with the original tires as well when I bought the car bringing it back out of town and I knew my rsa's were already cracking from being old so I changed them right away and discount tire told me good thing about the arizionians. I will see if it's aligment related tomorrow I will take it to a shop to check the aligment. I'm sure if anything else was wrong the infiniti dealer would of felt it test driving it when they did when I told them about the issue at high speeds. Thanks for your response

Also some of the roads w/ a lot of grooves in the pavement will cause what you're describing, it's called tramlining and if the old tires & the new tires had this happen on the same stretch of highway that could be the cause. If this occurs on most roads at highways speeds than probably not the case.

Thank you for your feedback and yes you are absolutely correct with both tires felt the same, and I do agree with you on the road condition because some of them are worse than others and it happeneds only on stretches of it. I'm still going to go get my aligment checked to be safe but I think the roads have a a lot to do with it as well because there is a highway here with a lot of those groves and they need replacement and it's feels horrible. Great knowledge on cars you have it's good to learn new things I see your very helpful in many members question thanks again!
The lower profile tires definitely tramline more, too. And if there is damage (diesel spills, etc) on the asphalt, you feel the pull of any roadway disturbance quite a bit. Watch for uneven treadwear (cupping and feathering) as there could still be alignment issues as well.

Here's the specs of the aligment was just a little off, went ahead and got it done anyways and they checked the suspension and everything was fine must be the roads I'm guessing

Being full tread depth, new tires will tend to squirm around a bit right out of the box. The taller blocks will move around more and the tire's mold release (a coating on the tire applied during production so they don't stick to the mold) will amplify the feeling. With proper alignment and some time to let the tires scrub in (takes about 200-300 miles for the release to wear off) things should get better.
