I live in Chile, so I need help eibach pK or Swift sport and avantgarde M368

Hi guys
i'm new to the forum, because i recently bought a 2011 G37S 6MT.
i live in Chile (miners, earthquakes, and now volcanos!!!) so for me is very difficult to get springs or aftermarket wheels, especially for this car since there are just a few here in Chile.
I've been searching a lot in the forums and internet, an apparently, the best lowering spring for our cars is either Eibach or Swift.

My undertanding is that Eibach PK is the most popular around here. What is not clear to me is if this kit is linear or progressive, and how stiff is over the stock suspension. i've foud some threads that says eibach are +15% from stock, but is not clear if is based from the base model or the sport one.
source: https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...rwd-coupe.html
https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...-for-g37s.html

I found a lot less info about swift, and apparently they have more drop than eibach, and they are also stiffer.

So, no matter what i choose, i will have to import them, with a substantial rise in the final price, and with a greater difficulty in selling them here if i don't like them. RMA is hard also because of the cost of ship them back to the states. Having said that, obviously i have to make the best decision.
I know my car will behave different, but i want to know what set of spring will give me the most stock behavior possible.

Based on your experience, what do you recommend? Eibach or swift?

Regarding wheels, I like very much the avantgarde M368. I've seen some pics and they look awesome on the G37S. Do you have some feedback on them? quality build? weight?

Sorry for the long post.

thank you in advance.

Welcome to the site Andrew, glad you found us.

As far as lowering, you have quite a few options for mild drops from the progressive Tanabe, Eibach, and Swift to the linear Tein H-tech springs.

Maybe try contacting Luke at THMotorsports about international shipping or Charles at B2autodesigns, they may be able to help and carry a wide variety of parts. Here's their contact info
https://www.myg37.com/forums/private...=newpm&u=44317
https://www.myg37.com/forums/private...newpm&u=335340

As far as being as close to stock comfort, probably in this order ~Tanabe, Swift, Tein H Tech, Eibach. You will probably need at least a rear camber/toe kit w/ these springs. All these springs are a mild drop of 1 to 1.5"
Don't consider the Tein S-Tech though, those are deeper drop springs.

As far as wheels, Charles @ B2 Autodesigns may be able to help w/ those too.

Not sure about the OEM Sport Spring rates, I've tried searching before w/ no luck.
The Spring rates are listed in the spec sheets for the four sets I mentioned~
H-Tech
HIGH.TECH
Tanabe
Tanabe USA Inc. - NF210 Normal Feeling Springs
Eibach Part # 6390.140
Spring Rates:
Front: 228lbs/in initial, up to 548lbs/in
Rear: 371lbs/in initial, up to 531lbs/in
Swift
Swift Springs USA
So looking at the spec sheets and above cut&paste, the H-Techs are the softest, followed by Tanabe, then Eibach & Swift are very close.
The reviews on Tanabes are generally good, teh only real con w/ them that I've read is the rear drops more than the front w/ the AWD Gs.
Here's a thread on that w/ an easy remedy

I just found those about a month ago when researching the RS-R coilovers, they make quality products and are Japan-based. I would be pretty confident in their quality, as far as how much they actually drop, that I couldn't say. It seems some companies are much more accurate than others when the drop #s are listed
BTW, where did you find the OEM spring rates, if you have a link please post it so I can store it away for future help.
If the RSRs are indeed right at OEM rates then the Tanabe is just under that and the Eibach & Swift just a bit stiffer. Good to know.
Thanks.

my sources are the two links i found in the forums. So, to be sure, I sent an email to RS-R USA asking directly if the spring rate was based on the base o sport spring. I'm still waiting.
I also ask infiniti USA, but they replied back telling me that I have to ask to a retailer.

regarding the RS-R spring, apparently they are popular among the Lexus crowd.

this is the answer I got from RS-R:

"Dear Andres,
Thank you for your inquiry. The suspension was tested on and based off of the Nissan Skyline 370GT Type-S from Japan.
Regarding settling after install, we recommend driving the car for about a week to let them settle before you do an alignment.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Bests,
C.J."

based on this response, this particular set of springs are supposed to work well in our G37S coupe

I'd give them a try, I think you'd be the first on the site to use them. They are a quality company and would be good to get some reviews for them. Someone's got to be the test mule, lol
Keep us posted on what you end up with.

Hi Andrew, I can't offer any advice here but... I've got a buddy who lives in Bolivia and won't drive anything but SUVs. I know that all of South America isn't the same and he works in the development/humanitarian field so he spends a lot of time in rural areas. I've helped him find and export several 4-Runners and the like as it's so much cheaper to do that then buy them there... I know that he wouldn't buy anything less than a very capable off-roader but understand your situation may be different. Welcome to the site and good luck. If/when I decide to become an expat... Chile is on my short list, despite the earthquakes and volcanoes.

ok. I've almost set my mind on the RS*R Down sus springs. I've read several good reviews on these on the infinitiq50.com forums, so I guess I'll be the test mule
I've also set my mind on the avantgarde M368 wheels, but here I will need your advice.
I think I'm getting the 19X8.5 +35 front and 19X9.5 +40 rear, because I'm planning to use 245/40 - 275/35 combo. According to this tire calculator, front will stick out 18mm and rear will stick out 20mm
From what I'ver read here, this setup will flush well and has a nice stance.

On another note, but regarding these issues, I'm visiting my sister who lives in St. Louis (go cardinals!!!) this June, and I was thinking that perhaps I might purchase these items and bring them back with me in the plane.

Would that be difficult?
I'm flying United, are they picky about carrying wheels and springs?

again, any help will be very appreciated.

Thank you very much

P.S. sorry about my english.

Welcome back Andrew
You might consider these, especially if they could be shipped to St. Louis and taken back to Chili w/ you. You won't be shortening the life of your OEM dampers so you'd be able to put them back on when the time comes to return it to stock and Tein is a good Japan company. This will give you more suspension travel without the compromise that a spring on an OEM shock will give you. If you decide to go w/ the RS-R springs be sure to post a review as there's really no feedback on them yet.
TEIN Street Basis Coilover Kit; OEM Front Upper Mount; OEM Rear Upper Mount; Not EDFC Compatable INFINITI G35
Here's a couple current reviews, might send a PM to either of those members if you have questions
https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...basis-imo.html

As far as the wheels, those offsets & tire sizes will be a great fit and pretty flush to the fender. Only consideration is front brake clearance for your big Sport calipers, you'd need to contact the vendor to verify clearance. Here's F&R templates you can send them if needed
