Wheels and wheel gap

Hi,
I'm thinking of making my G look a little cooler by possibly adding aftermarket wheels and lowering the suspension my two questions are 1. What wheels have you found that look good and feel good on an 08 G37 coupe. And 2. Does it make a difference in the car at all to have it lowered other then the clean look. I look forward to your responses 😁

Hi,
I assume you have the base 18" coupe wheels, going to 19s or 20s combined w/ lowering will give you a noticeably firmer ride, especially w/ 20s. As you lower the cars the springs become firmer, that combined w/ the thinner sidewall tires will combine for a pretty firm ride. If that's just fine w/ you then I'd go to the Coupe Media Share section and have a good look around.

Also keep in mind when you lower the costs add up quick, I recommend at least a rear camber/toe kit (about $150-175) and usually a front camber arm set ($300-350), the springs will run about $250-300, the alignment another $125, aqnd if you don't DIY the install it's another $200-300. If you decide to lower on adjustable coilovers they run from about $900 to over $2000.

So it really comes down to budget, a minimum budget for new wheels & tires starts at about $2000 and can go through the roof.
To lower your vehicle properly and equip w/ new wheels & tires I'd set aside at least $2800 if you DIY the install and go up from there.

You can also find nice sets of used wheels/tires and if you live close to the seller these can often be a great way to go.

Hopefully I didn't scare you w/ the $$$, but it's best to keep surprises to a minimum.

Wow ok glad I asked and I'm glad you told me straight out what it looks like. It's not so much the budget as it is my cross feeling between spending all that money on me and my car or spending it on my wife and new son haha but thanks man all that info puts it in prospective
