Anyone with suspension experience
Anyone with suspension experience
Hey guys I need a little help here so anyone who has experience lowering their car I would love your input.
So I am lowered on coilovers and shredded through a set of tires in a few months. So, I bought a camber kit from SPC and installed it front/rear and had it aligned. The guys at the alignment shop told me that the car is maxed out (as little camber as possible) with these camber readings:
FL: 1.1
FR: 1.1
RL: 1.4
RR: 1.6
(is it ok for the rears to be different???)
They said that if I were to try to reduce the camber anymore (the camber kit itself isn't physically maxed out, I can still move the adjuster in the rear quite a bit) it would completely **** the toe measurements.
Anyone have experience squaring up a lowered car? And is the tech right about this or can I get these tires sitting square?
P.S. I'm not even slammed... I am just lowered enough to close the wheel gap.
Much appreciated!

Just looked at the other forum and I concluded that the toe bolt was the problem. I called the installer and he didn't elongate the toe bolt hole, so the camber/toe were limited. I'm a little angry with them because for $600 I shouldn't really have to worry about them not doing their job correctly
. But anyway thanks for the help!

If you gave them toe bolts to install and paid for it, then yes they should have elongated the hole and installed them to give you a little more toe adjustment. However if your toe settings are correct (you didn't list them) you will be just fine with those camber settings. Yes it is OK for the settings to be slightly different side to side, it won't hurt anything and it can be very time consuming to try to get them exactly the same.
Yeah I gave them the instructions and the template so they really should have. The toe settings are:
FL: .05
FR: .09
RL: .13
RR: .12
So the toe is pretty spot on. At this point I just wanna have them drill the hole anyway for future setups (whether I lower it or raise it a bit more) and reduce the camber a bit just to play it safe and have a uniform look all around. Thanks for the help guys!

Center the template on the hole and only cut the side closest to the center of the car. IIRC it's only about a 1/4" that needs to be cut in.
