OEM wheels ever painted like this????
2013 G37 6MT, 6000 miles. it's got these rims on it. I bought refinished OEM rims in November for snow tires. They matched the OEM paint scheme perfectly, but one of the rims was out of round. Company sent a replacement rim. The face of the replacement looked just like OEM, but the inner surface - where you would apply stick-on weights - was painted gloss black (my original rims have this surface as metallic silver). Moreover, there was gloss black paint on the mounting face (the surface that mates up with the hub on the car).
Questions:
-Has Infiniti ever sold these rims with black paint on the inner surface? In other words - did this refinisher just send me rims from the wrong year, or did he have no business ever applying black paint anywhere on this rim?
-is paint on the mounting face considered acceptable? My gut feeling is that this would interfere with making a good static connection, and - depending on the thickness of the paint - could conceivably cause it to not sit flat. But I haven't seen any solid info on the internet about this.
Thoughts?

It sounds like the refinisher picked up a set of OEM wheels that were painted black and just removed the paint on the outer surface so it would have the OEM finish. I assume the other 3 are also black on the barrel and mounting flange, if not they may have just had a one off wheel that was previously painted. As far as the paint on the hub mount flange, unless it's got a run on one side it should be fine as long as it's just flat coverage. If it's questionable you can always take a wire wheel and buff it off.
