H&R springs TOO low, what now?

So I installed H&R springs on my 09 G37 .. After doing research on here and website, I figure I would go with them because they drop my car the least. (according to the website, and some threads on here that quoted the sites info) Well the damn car is just too low, I wouldn't be surprised if I lost 3 inches in the front. I'm having all types of issues with the smallest of inclines and speed bumps. It's a nightmare. I looked in further recently on this forum, to find that people were seeing a large drop, way more than what the specifications say. But it was too late..

So what are my options? How can I regain maybe an inch of clearance without taking the springs out and replacing then? Also I was wondering if I contacted and complained to H&R maybe they could refund me??

If I do have to buy a new set I think I would go Eibach sport...

Nothing you can do to get any height back without using some DIY spacers which would be very dangerous. Doubt H&R will help but never hurts to try, unfortunately they have a drop like S Techs and like you noticed it's quite a bit deeper than their info states
I was dropped that low on B&G springs and it is a stressful drive always wondering what hazard is just around the corner
I think your only option is less aggressive springs but you should be able to sell your H&Rs on here to offset some of the cost.

This is my biggest fear, and the reason why I haven't dropped my car at all. Coilovers, though more expensive, give you a huge range of very precise drops. If you have a
"perfect height" in mind, basic coilovers might not be a bad idea.

Sorry you're not happy with your drop. If you just put those springs on there, they'll actually settle even lower with time.

I have been worried about that too. Once I get some wheels I'll figure out if I'll drop...probably eibachs. But for me the other issue is those stupid camber kits that cost more than the springs. That ticks me off enough to possibly not drop. But it is good to know the H&Rs are too low because I had though about em

Kinda sucks.. What would be the least aggressive spring?

I think I'm going to hope when I put my Skyline Gtr wheels on I get about .6 inch extra height, because those wheels are 1.27" taller. From there hopefully I can get some clearance back.. maybe swap out the springs next year :/

Swift, Tanabe, Eibach, and Tein H-Techs (not the S Techs) offer milder drops. Not sure if all are available for the X though. And although some say everything is OK without the camber kits they WILL be out of spec either camber, toe, or both, and although you can safely drive w/ excess camber the tires will wear quicker and if you keep the car a few years the tire cost will over-run the camber kit cost for sure.
I have low cost coilovers that are height & damper adjustable and although they are a "budget" coilover I've found them to be a huge upgrade over my lowering springs FWIW.

Here's the part #
Megan Racing
I got mine from a site vendor FBParts, Jomer is the sales guy and he ships quick and excellent prices.
Here's Jomers' contact info, just shoot him a PM for a quote, he's got several coilovers in that general price range

Yeup, many people say you dont need camber kits with Eibachs because the alignment can be done "within" specs. I got my Eibachs and did not want to install them without the front & rear camber kits.
Installed everything at the same time, Eibachs, front & rear SPC kits includig toe bolt and spacers.
Im really happy with the set-up

XTR performance offers cheaper coilovers. I have no experience with them, but if you're looking for basic coilovers, there are these ISC coilovers for 855 shipped.

ISC Suspension N1 Basic Coilovers - XTRPerformance

I do agree with Brad regarding FB parts. I always look for the best prices on parts, and over and over again, Fred Bean Parts comes through with significantly better deals, quick shipping, good communication, and excellent documentation.

Please dont use larger wheels as a means to raise your car. Larger wheels means thinner tires and therefore the same overall diameter. H&R springs are known to be the most aggressive and pretty much slam your ride. Look into Eibachs or Tanabes.

The reason I lowered the car was because I wanted to have an aggressive look for my wheels. I don't think 20" wheels look good at stock height. My cousin bought a 2010 Skyline Gtr and I looked online those rims fit, and also look pretty darn good on the G sedan.

What Sam is saying is you can't raise your G by going w/ taller rims, you have to compensate the wheel height w/ thinner sidewall height to keep the outside diameter as close to stock as possible. Believe me I understand that you want the 20s combined w/ a good drop to have a nicer look but you'll have to use the proper tires or your Traction control, ABS, and speedometer will be out of range.
Be sure to use the tire calculator when deciding tire sizes for your new wheels

well according to the size of the 17" stock wheels on my car now, and the size of the tires on the GTR wheels, they are 1.27 inches taller, raising my car half that amount. So yes you can put a larger diameter tire, these wheels are said to fit without issue..
