Suspension question

I have an 08 g37 coupe. I was looking at ebiach springs. But everyone keeps telling me just to her coilovers. I live in Staten Island ny. I'm not trying to go lower than two inches. That was my problem. If Ima get coilovers, what's the difference if I'm not gonna go lower than 2 inches. Not trying to spend more than 1,000$ any suggestions?

Btw my cars RWD and on stock 19 inch oem rims wish 20mm spacers in the front and 25mm spacers in the rear. Is there any chance of rubbing? And if go with
Coils, will I need a camber or toe kit? As I keep hearing that it's suggested.

I just did the suspension in my IPL. I was in your position trying to figure out what to get not to long ago. First off, from all the info I gathered before I did my suspension, swift springs are better for our cars then eibach. I was between swift springs or coilovers. Once you cross the line to coils, don't go cheap. I'd rather do swift springs then a set coils that cost less than 1k. Keep in mind, no matter which way you go, you must get SPC camber kit. THMotorsports is a vendor on this site and you get the kit for under 500 shipped. It's not that much extra for install if its done at same time as springs.

I did KW v1 coils. The swift springs while lower than eibach were just not low enough. Also consider this. You buy swift for 300 or so, pay 400 for install (springs and spc kit). Now 10 months later your car is bouncy b/ stock struts arnt designed for what your doing. You spend another 300 on tokiko blues and another 300 for install. Now your at the same cost as coils. KW appeared to be the consensus best coils per this forum. If your not tracking your car, V1s are fine. You can't adjust the rebound and dampening, but the prest loads are a very good balance of comfort and performance. You can get your 2 inches and achieve better then stock ride quality. This is what I did, and I couldn't be happier.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Thank you that was what has been going through my mind.
How much do the v1s go for? And with coils I can do only a 2 inch drop correct? I really appreciate it this helped a lot.its just I'm so scared to go to low and what you said made sense. So I would go with the kW v1s and SPC chamber kit. What about the toe? Thank you again

KWv1 run around 1500ish. SPC is around 450ish. I got everything THM. With coils you can go as high as stock (or close) and lower than practical to drive. Honestly, my parking spot in my garage (location of pic) isn't quite even and that side appears lower than it really is in the rear. I'm not exactly sure how low I am as far as inches, but I only scrape on stepe inclines and only rub a little on U turns. I'm about as low as you can go and still be "practical". I'd guess I'm around two inches.

If you really want to go budget, go w/ swift springs but get struts too (tokiko blues or similar) b/ you'll save on the install as there isn't much more work to install it all in one shot. But even with swift, you will need SPC kit (which will allow both toe and camber to adjust to spec). Your looking at 11-12 hundo for that setup. But you'll be nowhere near 2 inches. Those springs will make your car look stock compared to a car lowered to inches. They go about 1.2. Very modest IMO.

Here is a pic from the other side. This is really how low I am. I dunno why the other side looks so much lower in my parking spot. Everywhere else it's the same on both sides. It's like one of those skinny mirrors in the women's changing room at Saks. I'd say I'm right at 2", but who knows...

Here is an IPL on swift I dug up for you. I've seen swift once in real life, and it looks like the height of a stock 328i. That's 1.2 in the front and .7-.8 rear. I'm probably 2" in the front and 1.7" rear. The rear on our cars has much less gap than front.

I'm honestly going for the coils. Looking into the stance. I rather get the coils and adjust it however I want. With that and the spc kit I should be fine. The spc includes the toe correct? Sorry for the noob question. But do you think that would be better off. Or should I go with kw for an extra 3-400$ just to be safe. If I do coils will I need anything else other then the camber kit?

The swift springs look much better in my opinion.
