Rotors/Caliper Dilemma

I have a 2008 G37 Coupe Journey
Ok, I'm trying to decide whether I should upgrade my calipers or not, I need new rotors 'cause they are "warped" I like the look of the sport calipers brake set, If I buy the calipers that are from the G37S what else will I need to purchase? Do I need to buy bigger rotors as well or will they be the same size as the stock Journey? Do I have to upgrade my stock 18" tires/wheels as well? If I see a good deal on the private classifieds I feel like I should buy the calipers. grrr decisions decisions...

Here is a link on step by step instructions. Its a pretty easy swap. But you will have to get new rims for them to clear the callipers.

Installing Infiniti G37 sport brakes onto non-sport G37 models | G37 Akebono big brake kit installed on G35 and 350z

You'll also have to get a new spare tire/wheel as the 17" won't clear the big brakes. Figure about 1500-1700 dollars when you're all done.

I got a great deal on mine when I upgraded but did have to get another set of rims to get home and I haven't swapped out my spare tire yet. But, I think totally worth it. Stops a lot better now, no judder etc.

I did everything at to the same time, now I'm wanting them painted though... Definitely happy I did it.

Nice upgrade Rex, what color are you planning to paint them?
It's something I'd like to do eventually, I just have a hard time justifying the cost. Maybe something will fall into my lap, I've had decent luck w/ various used parts over the years. Maybe a junked S will show up in a local wrecking yard and I could get them for a song, it's nice to dream
I really like the Wilwood kits, especially the 6 pot/4pot set, they also have better clearance so more wheels would work.
Even the older Z Brembos would be an option, although those are close in price to Akebonos

Thank you Brad, I've been really happy with them so far! As far as color... Most likely a blue is what I'm thinking but I need to work with JP to sort out the final shade etc. right now I'm on his list for the core swap but if I can find a set of calipers at the right price I may buy them have him paint them then swap and sell my current ones. I'm on the fence though....

I think you'll really like the upgrade if you go this route. It's definitely an upgrade but also pretty pricey in total, I hope that junked S shows up for you! I'll keep my eyes open for you as well, so far I haven't seen too many deals unfortunately.
