Looking for some thoughts on winter rubber for a 12 XS Coupe. Up until September, I've been driving around in an 08 S coupe, which is RWD. I live in Madison, WI, so our winters are snowy. When I bought the 08 coupe in 2007, I went ahead and purchased a set of 18" aftermarket wheels and snow tires to use on the coupe.

Fast forward to now, I'm no longer driving the 08 RWD S anymore, I now have a 12 XS coupe, with the 19" all season tires on it. I still have the winter rims from the 2008, which are in great condition, however the rubber is shot. I'm wondering if it is worth it/necessary to put snow tires on an AWD coupe. I figured i'd check on the forums here to see what people who have XS coupes have experienced/recommend.

If you liked the rwd car with snows, you'll really like the X with snows. You'll have more snow tires options by running an 18" package though, quite limited in 19" fitments.

 

I neglected to put in my original post that the winter wheels I have are 18" aftermarket rims (with Vredestein Wintrac tires on them now, that are worn out).

I'll use those same wheels, if need be, on my AWD coupe.

Guess it's time to start tire shopping...
