Another tire thread...

Hello everyone

Ive had my 2010 G37 sedan for about 2 years and its time for me to finally replace my original tires. After some research i think I'm leaning towards a Firestone tire called the FIREHAWK WIDE OVAL AS. As a good little forum member, the first thing I did was use the search feature to see if anyone else had written about them. Unfortunately, I didn't come up with much. I was initially leaning towards the POTENZA G019 GRID, but the stores I've called have all said those are being phased out.

I would like something that is fairly long lasting, quiet, good in the rain (i live in new orleans) but still a little sporty. I am not a very aggressive driver, but I do like to drive fast on the interstate. Also, the thing I hated most about the original tires were their tendency to slide as i turn in rain, sun, wind, pretty much all the time.

Does anyone have any experience with the FIREHAWK WIDE OVAL AS? I would love to hear anything you guys have to say (bad or good). If you have any alternatives that you'd like to suggest in the same price range (150-200), I'd love to hear those as well.

Thanks everyone!

Tire rack has a few review on those tires..not much though.

If you're looking at all season tires..the main popular tires are the Continental DWS, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.

After researching I ended up going with General GMAX AS-03. I haven't put much miles on them but I like them so far for what I paid.

The Firestone did ok at best across the board. It really did lack in the wet side of things. I would look at the Conti DWS and Yoko Avid Envigor. Those both have a better track record and are more popular amongst G owners.

Ditto on the Continental DWS, and the DW as well, since I know they discontinued several sizes for the DWS. The DW has only a slightly different tread wear rating.
