Hi all,

Well, I have searched and read many, many threads until I'm at a point that I have probably confused myself more than when I started.

My new to me 08 G37S 6MT has brand new Hankook V12's in stock sizes on the stock sport 19" wheels. I am not lowered yet, but may do the Tanabe NF210 front springs and leave the rear factory sport springs in.

With this combo, using the new tires above, here are some questions I hope members may be able to answer:

1. Which wheels in 19" will give me a flusher fit W/O have to worry about fender rubbing issues. Sizes and offset suggestions please...and maybe a photo or two??

2. I want a good quality wheel without spending a small fortune. Something that is lightweight but does not have to be cutting edge technology.

3. I DO NOT want to use any wheel spacers.

I apologize in advance if this exact inquiry has been made, but I have not been able to find what I'm after in searches and reading...

Oh, and BTW, this car absolutely rocks. It is far more fun than all of the other, more expensive exotics I have owned in the past.

What's your budget on new wheels? Lighter wheels usually = more $$. Also I don't think you can run too low of an offset/big enough wheels on the stock tires to give you the look you're after unless you want to stretch them.. ALOT. Anyone with more expertise care to chime in?

 

Hey JJ... Welcome. Glad to hear you're happy with your new car.

First off, I think you're really cutting yourself off at the knees by saying you need to keep the stock tire sizes. That certainly limits how wide of a wheel you can run. Nonetheless, the stock sport wheels are:

19x8.5" (+43) on 225/45
19x9" (+45) on 245/40

If you don't want to run crazy stretch on those Hankooks, I would not go any wider than 9" in the front and 9.5" in the rear (and even those will be slightly stretched). To get the flush look you want without spacers, you will need more aggressive offsets. If you buy 19" wheels in the widths I suggested (9" in the front, 9.5" in the rear) I would go with offsets of something in the neighborhood of +20 in the front and +25 in the rear.

As for the specific wheels, I would check the classified sections of different forums before committing to something new. You can find a set of high-end wheels in your price range if you're patient and keep an eye out. They're out there. Don't settle for something of lesser quality just because it meets your budget of the moment. Just my $.02.

I'm not firm on which way I want to go. Money is not an issue, but I know I don't want to deal with a lot of camber issues and excess tire wear by going very low and very wide.

I like how the car handles stock, and I do not plan on doing any track runs. I've seen a ton of great looking cars with all the wide wheels and lowered, and I like the look, but I just don't want to mess with it too much beyond stock. I might just do the NF210's in front and leave the stock tires and wheels.

I saw a similar setup on this site and it looked very nice...
