Question Changing tires on my G37

Guys I really can use some assistance. I have Bridgestone Potenza re050a Tires on my G ride now, but soon I will be changing my tires to new ones. Should I stay with the same set for or go with a different brand? Also, whats the best tire brand for the G37?

honistly dude, there are sooooooooooooooo many diff tires out there and so many brands, ur gonna get alot of diff responses to this. You might get some better help if you say what your going to b using the car for most ,daily driver im asumming? figure out ur budget.... then from there you should try researching tire brands and models and see what fits what your looking for. I am in no way an expert on the subject just trying to help a guy out lol. GL!

It really depends on what you're looking for.

What are you looking for in a tire?

What did you like and dislike about the OEM tire.

Help us help you.

+1 on helping narrow the field. Conditions you'll be driving them in, price, top three things you want out of the tire, etc would be a great start.

Well the tires I compared were the current Bridgestone Potenza re050a i have now, the

Yokohama S.drive (Ultra High Performance Summer) ,
Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport (Ultra High Performance Summer),
Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring (Grand Touring All-Season),
Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport (Ultra High Performance Summer),
Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum (Grand Touring All-Season)

not sure which one to really get, price isn't a problem, looking for a all round tire that I can get a good responce from.

I have Yokohama S. Drives and I like them better than the stock RE050s in relation to comfort and noise. Handling is comparable, but the RE050 were too noisy and rough. I also thought about getting RE760...seen good reviews on those.

+1 on the Yoko S. Drives. Had 2 sets on my last G. Great balance between handling performance and tread life. I drive, um, 'spirited' and they lasted me for 30k miles. That's pretty damn good for a soft summer tire.

Oh, and the stock 050's suck ballz, if ya ask me. I'm a shade over 7500 miles and I'm praying they last another month until my new wheels/tires come in.

Yokohama S.Drives and Hankook Ventus V12s are both pretty good tires and priced decently.

Why the Michelin Pilot Super Sport Will Change the World - Hunter's Ramblings | Tire Rack

Im debating the new Pilot SS vs the Conti DW tires.

Im looking at the +0 size, so 245/40/19 up front and 275/35/19 in the rear to fill out the wheel gap a little and get wider tires.

What I liked about the stock tires:
Road noise is acceptable to me.

What I dislike about the stock tires:
I have a tough time driving without that little yellow light going off. I can make the rears slip waaaaay too easily around turns. Dry traction in a dead straight line is OK. Wet traction leaves a little to be desired. I have about 15,000 miles on the stock tires, with a bulk of that highway miles, so I will probably get 20k miles from the stock tires.

What I want in new tires:
Better overall dry traction/grip
Better overall wet traction/grip
Longer tire life

Im assuming that wider tires in the rear should also give better traction in the rear as more rubber is on the road. So although I dont have experience with the Pilot SS or Conti DWs, Im assuming both should be better in all categories than the stock RE050s.

Just to note, the categories you are comparing are rather different.

You are going to see a big difference in dry traction from the Yoko's compared to the Kumho's.

If you are looking for a good all-season tire, check out the ultra high performance all season category. I think the continental DWS are good tires in that class based on tire rack ratings.
