Thanks for the input guys. I have the wheels/tires waiting to be mounted, and I have decided to go with Tanabes for the drop. Since my post count is too low to post a WTB add in classifieds...anyone selling used Tanabe coilovers!?

I had purchased a set of Tein Flex Zs. Ended up selling them to a friend - he has a '10 Sport Coupe. IIRC he has them set just a few clicks from full soft and it rides better than the stock suspension with 80k miles. (I feel the mileage is important - I'm not sure they would ride better than a set of oem shocks that were much younger.)

Where you live is important too. My stock 350Z rode great down here in NC, but up in NYC I was cringing and in shock at all the rattles and creaks. If you live somewhere with ****ty roads I honestly wouldn't bother, it's going to be miserable.

I've read that the Tanabe and HKS coilovers offer the smoothest ride for our cars. I'm running Stance XR1 with Swift springs and while it's not "soft", it's definitely smooth and not jarring like some other coilovers out there.
