The only downside to spacers are that they are going to put a higher rotational load on your bearings due to the higher moment arm acting on them. Therefore they WILL wear faster than normal. How much faster? That's depends on too many variables and cannot be determined. Now, will they wear in the time you own your car? Maybe. Will you notice this, probably not.

You really can't put a figure on how much faster they will wear, its pretty minimal and I think its negligible. If you are willing to put spacers on, I'm sure you are not going to be too worried about it.

If you get the bolt on spacers you have to make sure you check the torque on your spacers every once in while. Not really a big deal, but something that should be done.

Currently I am still running the stock tires. Once they run out, I will be upgrading to 245/40 and 275/35 and may have to do some fender modifications to avoid rubbing. Will worry about that when the time comes.
