Eibach Springs Question

I was ordering this online today but decided to wait and get some feedback here first. I am getting the Eibach Pro Springs and anti-roll bars.

My question is about the rear springs. I don't like the front gap so the springs there will be awesome. The rear of my car really doesn't have much of a gap to begin with and I don't want the rear fender well to set lower than the tops of the rear tires. I know some like this look but I don't like it at all. What happens if I only install the front springs? Will it mess things up with the handling? If I install the rear springs are they going to drop it too low for what I want? I'm still running the stock 19" rims that came with my anniversary edition G37 Coupe if that helps.

If anyone has pics they can send of their G37S Coupe with the Eibach Pro Springs installed that would be very helpful.

Eibachs barely drop the back at all. If you just change the fronts you may negatively impact your handling. the spring rates will be off. Also the car will not look proportionate. the front will seem much lower than the rear.

Overall I would recommend installing both front and rear springs. I have them with stock wheels as well and the only complaint I have is that the wheels seem slightly inside the wheel well and you may want spacers.

Eibachs will give you the much needed drop at the front. Along with the rear springs, they will provide a moderate drop so that you car will have an balanced stance.

You should change both. The rears, as previously stated, won't drop the rear too low

how does the drop and handling differ from the sportlines and the pro springs. I'm looking at getting some soon and want to be sure.

Thanks for the replies and especially the photos. That helped tons. I definitely will be installing the rear springs too now that I see the balance. Besides I don't want to throw anything off.

As far as what Gazan37 said about spacers. I'm new to the mod stuff. What do spacers do, extend your wheels out giving the car a slightly wider stance or something?

Also, was I supposed to have ordered an Alignment Kit from Eibach as well? Or will I be able to get it aligned after dropping it without that?

Thanks!

Im on Eibachs, 15mm front, and 20mm rear spacers with stock sport wheels.

You should get the front and rear camber arms, the alignment will then be able to return to stock.

$500 to 600 for the arms, VS ~$1000 for each set of tires.
You do the math.

Some will tell you that they have gone X amount of time and miles without, I dont believe it.

I was a brake and front end tech for 15 years, excessive camber wears tires almost as much as excessive toe.

Do you really need the front and rear camber arms? Can't you just get an alignment?

I drove on Eibachs with NO camber kit for over a year and it did just fine. A good alignment will get you right at the limits of OEM (you might just barely be out of OEM spec) but some people want the reassurance that they are definitely in OEM spec. So if you are comfortable with being 0.1-0.2 degrees out of spec, you're fine with out it.

You really need the rear camber arms. My car was negative before the drop and after the drop getting it back to spec was near impossible. The cambers are an easy install and like it was said earlier for the rear cambers costs is some $129 to $279 vs. $1,000 for new tires... Do it right the first time...

I think TVPostSound changed to swift springs based on a later post. I also have the Swift Springs installed, however the rears look a bit lower than I expected for some reason. I have the 20mm front and 15mm rear set up just like TVPostSounds current rig. Check out this photo from the driver side..

I also have the eibachs. no camber kits. back is within oem spec, front is -.1 and -.2 out of spec. very close to OEM range. over time this may cause a little wear on the inside but I'm not worried about replacing tires 2-4k miles early. I'll have to replace them eventually anyway and may never own the car long enough to be blowing through multiple sets of tires. also running 19" stock sport rims with 20mm spacers front and 15mm spacers rear. spacers are a must after dropping the car to get the right look. i have a 1 finger gap front and back. looks great in my opinion. by the way, I have a 2010 coupe and the rear camber can be adjusted quite a bit but the front has no camber adjustment so you get what you get when you drop it.
