Greg's "How not to lower your G" Thread
I need a set of Eibachs preferably settled. Reasonable price, let me know guys.
It would be fine. The spring was cut without any heat generated which would be bad. The film was made for all of us who want to know if this could be done. On some other cars with even springs, yes. On ours, not safe.
I can't wait for the sequel. How about "Should I install an electric RAM Supercharger?" Love to hear how this works out.

Ok. Thanks for the explanation. I've seen a post somewhere where the spring was cut on the FX35 to lower it. Not sure if it's the same type of spring design on that vehicle. But buying lowering springs is the safer bet for sure.

Perheaps if the collar on which the spring sits would be a little wider it'd be ok to install the cut spring. The diff is about 1/8 meaning the outside edge of the cut spring overlaps the collar close to 1/8 of an inch. It might be alright but I don't want to chance it. As far as cutting the spring I was very surprised how well it went without generating ANY heat. I kept it in a bucket with a hose running and cut it so the edge was picking up water all the time, semi immersed. I don't think it had affected the structure of the spring at all. If it would fit the savings are obvious: no money versus 250 bucks. I am still tempted to put it in just to see how far it would drop the car after cutting the piece we did.
Have you ever seen those Civics or Integras that are super dumped and bounce like a rubber ball as they drive down the road? The ones that ride and handle like a tank? The ones with the uneven ride height? Those are the results of lowering a car by simply cutting the springs. Is that what you're trying to achieve?
Im a big fan of your work greg.
have you ever thought about trying to make a snorkel? Like removing the front fake grill's and making a snorkel that sends air from the front of the car directly into the filter box. Kinda like a ram air intake that uses the stock airboxes and the stock flexi hose?
