ping sound from brake

My Car: 2009 G37x 6500 KM

I wonder if anyone have experienced this or have any comments. Since last week, I have heard ping sound from the brake when I release the pedal 95% times. The sound is like when you pull a rubber band very hard then flick it.

I went to a dealer today , and was told it is normal spring sound which I hardly can believe it since it was not happened before, and not when I tried a couple of demo cars in their show room .

Thanks for any comments.

Is it a very light metallic ping that you get when you go from 0 to 1-3mph, or in other words when you get moving from a stop?

If so, it's not a normal sound. It might be common but not normal. I've had the same noise, so have many others on the forum. The rear axle needs to be greased. Try doing a search for "rear axle ping" or something in that nature. Is there another dealership you can go to?

I don't know if this is the same thing you're referring to, but I hear a similar sound from my brake pedal. It has nothing to do with the car moving - If I push down hard I may hear it, then release and I'll hear it - sounds like a spring or the pivot pin. I crawled down near the pedals and did not see or hear anything abnormal.

Thanks for your reply.

No, it is not about moving. The sound persists even I put the car on "P". It is like SkyMG37x described. Most of time, right when I release the brake pedal. Occasionally when I press the pedal down. I have been dealer twice, first time they claim nothing wrong except the normal. Second time , they claimed the sound is from linkage. I have booked another app on Monday to triple check.

I just do not feel right ....
