Cool stuff, now if only manufacturers release rigidity info as part of their wheel spec.

Hmm...they claim forged & cast wheels are equal in rigidity. Interesting read.

Good info. But for me this raises more questions than it answers. It stands to simple reason that a more rigid wheel is better, although I didn't realize that small modifications as were done in this test would make such a difference in the wheel's rigidity.

How does one measure the rigidity of a given wheel? I've never seen any such specs listed anywhere for purposes of comparison.

How important is rigidity vs significantly lighter weight?

At what point does lighter weight outperform more rigidity? Will a very rigid 28 pound wheel outperform a 21 pound sorta rigid wheel? This goes back to the question of how rigidity is measured.

Anybody know the answers to this?
