I can see shifting affecting the car pulling to the side. If you have two hands on the wheel and take one off to shift, the remaining hand might pull the steering wheel to one side or the other. Don't laugh, I've instructed people on track and seen it first-hand

just happened to me today, i braked somewhat hard (not enough to jerk the passenger or anything) and pressed the clutch. Felt the car pulling to the right so i let go of the wheel (car was going about 10-15 mph) and the wheel turned 90degrees to the right in about 3 seconds

Rotated side to side.

That doesn't really do much (assuming you have no camber).

However, you actually CAN cross swap wheels (according to the thread I read). There's some sort of lug on the front that prevents you from swapping, which can be removed.

Could be a tire that has failed internally? I had that problem on a car years ago. Everything looked good except it pulled. Drove me crazier. %-) Maybe swap the tires/wheels with someone and see if it helps, if all else fails?

FYI: Stock RE050's are directional. So "swapping" would require them to take the tire off the wheel. You can't just swap the wheels.
