Should I get Bridgestone Blizzaks?

Hey All,

My Ram lease just ended and now I'm stuck with the G in the winter.. i've been renting a car for like $45 dollars a day so far. I was considering going with the Bridgestone Blizzaks for like $1200. Would they make a difference? anyone know? Opinions would be greatly appreciated please.

My car drove last year somewhat ok in the snow, i never drove it when there was more than an inch. i live in Michigan and they seem to get the snow off the roads pretty quick. its just random spots like subdivisions and stuff where they forget to remove it or w/e. Would i be able to drive it in a couple inches of snow? would it fish tail as much? thanks all

If you have a far commute everyday, then do it. I live seven miles from work, so I decided not to get Blizzacks.

They make a HUGE difference. The summer performance tires offer zero traction in snow. Blizzaks make winter driving fun.

I have the Blizzaks and can honestly say I would NOT drive the G in freezing temps or any amount of snow without them. $1,200 is really inexpensive compared to having an accident. IMO it's an absolute no-brainer if you drive the car in the winter.

If you absolutely have to drive your car in the winter, then I'd put anything on it other than the summer performance tires. If the temperature is below freezing, the summer tires turn into rocks and offer poor traction, regardless of conditions. As soon as it's below freezing and you throw ice or snow on the road, you have no chance. Really, any all-season or winter tire will be a 100% improvement over the stock performance tires for winter driving.

Your signature says you have an 08 Rover Sport. Why not drive that bad-*** puppy?!?!

Get snow tires if you plan on driving your car all winter. Do you notice the stock performance tires that bad in snow/cold? The Blizzaks certainly help, but I didn't find the stock tires to be nearly as bad as people say.

I know the season is over now.... but I ran Blizzaks and Loved them.... had No issues & I'm in New Hampshire! Well worth the $1200, just go easy when it's dry pavement, they wear easy.
