Springs - Are they Ok?
I really want to lower my G37s just a bit, I don't want to slam the car... I've been researching and had almost decided on the Tein H-Techs but then people(not on this forum) started telling me that springs would ruin the struts, and that to do it right I would need coilovers. Is this true? Big difference in price between coilovers and springs. Thanks for the input!
Basically springs are more for looks and coilovers are performance oriented. Don't get the H-Techs since there not made for our cars, just because they fit, doesn't mean they work like they're suppose to. Remember that the G37 is heavier than the G35. Springs also cost much less, only around $300. A good set of coils can cost you $1,500+. Any lowering spring will where out the shocks and struts quicker, but only over a period of time.
If you don't wanna slam the car, I suggest the Tanabe NF210 springs or the Eibach pro kit. Both lower the car to a decent height.

dont waste your $ on coils. find a decent drop you like and go with those. eibachs seem to be the best option out now for our cars. tein is releasing their g37 springs in jan 09 if you want to wait.

Rule of thumb is, if you do not track you car often, springs and struts combo would suffice. However, since no struts are yet available for our car, it is your call whether you want to take the chance of blowing your struts after a certain miles, or hoping struts would come out before then.
But if you go the springs route, I would go w/ Eibachs.
