I just picked up an 08 G37 (6mt) and have read all the threads about how terrible it is in the snow. It doesnt snow too much here on Long Island but I'm thinking of buying a cheap set of rims/tires to use for the winter?
Anyone have any suggestions? I was going to search e-bay for a stock set of g35 rims or some other Nissan or infiniti rims but I'm not sure what will fit the car. I dont care too much about looks or rim size. Just looking for something that will fit on the car.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
Thanks... I think I might hold off this winter. We havent really been getting any snow these past few years and even when we do, it's cleaned up quickly.
For Quebecers, it's a good time to start buying now or even earlier because there is going to be back-orders due to the mandatory law of having winter tires.

Frank, the summer Sport tires are not good in COLD weather. In the snow they are horrible, but when the temps drop below freezing they get progressively worse and basically turn to bricks. Your stopping distances will go way up and they just get slippery(you can do a 1 block burnout,no sweat). If you are going to be driving the G in the winter you really should get off the summer tires even though you don't see much snow.
We had 60 inches of snow in Chi last year, but I park the G for the winter and use another car. I do have all season or snows on my other cars. Best of Luck and enjoy the G.
