OEM 19" Summer Tires in the cold
OEM 19" Summer Tires in the cold
When there is no snow on the ground, what is the lowest temperature that the stock summer tires can be driven without losing traction. I have a winter beater that I will be using, but I want to take the G out every now and then so that the battery doesn't die and the tires don't flatten out. I have heard as long as it is above freezing...anyone have any experience in this?
I will never take it out if there is any snow accumulation whatsoever, I just want to do some cruising during the winter when the temperature allows it.

You'll be fine at or above freezing. I "store" my G in the winter , but drive it on those cold crisp weekends when there is no snow or piles of salt just to keep the fluids moving around and the battery from crapping out as you intend to do. I have a winter car.
Just don't take off the VDC and floor it or you'll end up in the side of your neighbors house.

The TPMS in the G is no good at telling you which tire is out of whack which blows, but you may have a leak. Check the pressure in all of them to find out what is causing the warning. I keep mine at 35f/36r.
