Steering Wheel Vibration @ highway speed

Just wondering if anyone else on here has experienced this? My steering will shake @ about 110-130km/hr, the car itself doesn't shake along with that, it's just the steering wheel. Also, just to add, i haven't hit anything or gone over any crazy bumps, this car is rarely driven.

Does anyone on here know what could possibly be causing this? I've had my car for about 5 months with 4800km on it and just noticed this vibration now.

I hope someone can fill me in,

Thanks in advance.

It it only shows up at certain speeds, then it's most likely one of your wheels that is out of balance. Check for missing wheel weights.

Mine is completely smooth...

BTW, has anyone noticed how many stick on weights the factory uses to get the perfect balance?

I swear one of my wheels has like 10+ weights on it.... I have a feeling when I need new tires/balance it will never be quite as good as factory.

It varies, might be none and might be a lot depending on the balance of the individual wheel/tire combo. There is no standard number. Occasionally you will get a defectively built tire that will not balance no matter what you do.

If you get a high speed vibration, it is almost always a wheel balance issue. Particularly if you get it at higher speeds and only in a relatively narrow speed range as you describe. The dealership will correct if for you at no charge and it shouldn't take long.

It should be perfectly smooth! if the steering weel shimmers then it's one of the front wheels. Check with the dealership.

also check your wheels. see if one is missing some weights on the inside. that could cause your problem and since we use stick on weights its always possible...
