Mevotech Adjustable Upper Control Arms

Hey Guys,

I recently discovered a little company called Mevotech (a suspension company in Ontario Canada that's been in business for over 40 years) and thought I would share my experience as it could save many of you some many of you some cash should you need to replace your upper or lower control arms. First off, I had a set of Swift springs installed on my 2013 G37S Sedan back in the early part of 2022. At the time, I gave the springs a few weeks to settle then returned to my favorite suspension shop that did the install and had them perform a free alignment. Unfortunately, at the time they were not able to provide a before and after printout, but they told me that everything was close to factory recommendations for Camber/Toe and Caster, and that I had nothing to worry about (seemed to agree with what I read on the forum regarding Swift springs). Fast forward a little over a year later, I noticed that the rear tires (Pilot Sport 4S, factory 18" Sport Wheels) had slightly more wear on the inner shoulder than the outer. I then decided to purchase a set of SPC adjustable rear camber arms from ConceptZ (use code "Taxes" for a 10% discount through the end of Feb 2023) and scheduled my favorite local mechanic to install/perform an alignment. I was surprised at the results (posted below) because like many, I thought the Swift springs were a mild drop and that they would not require addition suspension mods to get the car close to factory specs.

As a result, I began researching adjustable upper control arms (UCA), using the forum here and the the370z.com. I also called ConceptZ and Z1 as their teams always provide good FM platform type feedback. After weighing the pros and cons of each style and price point for adjustable UCAs, I decided on the SPC 72130 because the was the closest to the stock arm and SPC is known for high quality (I thought rubber bushings like OEM would also squeak less); at just over $600 shipped using the CZP coupon code for Feb 2023, I still wasn't quite ready to pull the trigger as I was still considering the Z1 UCAs based on their lower price and good reviews.

As I was surfing YouTube looking for videos discussing optimal G37/370Z alignment specs and SPC UCA install instructions for our cars, I stumbled across this one:

and quickly noticed that the Mevotech arms looked identical to the SPC 72130. After more research online, I found that the Toyota 4x4 crowd has known about this partnership for years. This morning, I called Mevotech tech support in Ontario and they confirmed that their CMS301148/47 UCAs are re-boxed SPC 72130s. In fact, they told me to use the install instructions for the 72130 just in case I found their instructions insufficient.

Per below, I pulled the trigger at RockAuto and saved roughly $200 on a set of UCAs (used code
224364627201848923 for 5% off)

I will post new alignment specs once installed and realigned.

As noted above, here's the current specs based on the install of the SPC adjustable rear camber arms/toe bolts only.

Thanks for that info. I really like the SPC style because it's easier to adjust but didn't want to spend $600+ either. The Z1 has to be removed to adjust which makes no sense at all. I'm using SPC camber arms on the rear and just put on last week. Wish I had done it years ago. Also took it to a more competent shop for alignment and got my toe in spec. I'll never use Kauffman/Mavis again. They have told me for years my alignment was in spec and I chewed through tires every year or so. I'm going to watch my tire wear in the front a while longer before deciding to get adjustable arms since my toe is good now. But at least now I know where to get a better deal, thanks again.

I finally have everything within spec and I've noticed a 2-3 mpg improvement on the highway. The car also feels much better on the road.

has anyone used the rear lower adjustable arms from mevotech (CMS301149 also on rock auto)? Or should I bite the bullet and buy the SPC rear arms? The reason I ask is that the two have slightly different structures, the spc has a bend in the arm while the mevotechs are straight, does this make a significant difference? Sorry if this is a dumb question just trying to cover all bases before ordering (first time lowering a car)

edit: after looking at them closer you can actually see the spc logo on the mevotech rear arms, so they likely did the same rebox as they did with the front uppers

Not sure which version of the SPC rear arms are shown in the Z1 kit, but I purchased these from Concept Z: https://conceptzperformance.com/spc-...260_p_4359.php

No bends, so identical to the Mevotechs you show above.

I trust Mevotech.

Not to revive an old thread, but my front alignment, camber specifically is very bad on the driver's side.

I went ahead and got the Mevotech arms on rockauto as well and they are indeed reboxed SPC arms. Going to swap the arms in myself and hopefully this will correct the issue.

I'm so glad I figured this out myself as well. Mevotech support is also excellent. Learned about this reboxing tactic after I purchased the rear SPC adjustable camber arm, but Moog makes a reboxed version of it.

Yeah great find on your part. Did you do the install yourself? I plan on doing the UCA myself and I am just waiting for some new hardware to come in.

I did not. Had my mechanic of many years install front and rear (inc. toe bolts), then perform an alignment.

Had these put on and fixed my alignment issue, really nice product!

Also did all the rear lateral arms and knuckle bushings.

Hence my use of the word "sells" vs makes

Moog and Mevotech both are my gotos. Both sell/rebox other manufactures products, but both also make some of their own stuff.

Moog reboxes the SPC rear adjustable camber arms if I'm not mistaken.

No issues for me yet. Did you try calling them? If my memory serves me correctly, the support team is in Toronto Canada, so EST.
