Accessories for proposed setup

2013 G37 Sport Sedan (slushbox). 93k miles.

So my suspension is worn out sort of. Bushings are all good. Rear sits 1/2 lower than the front with no one in it. I am refreshing the suspension I suppose with coilovers and sway bars but unsure of what else is needed.

I currently have 18x9+35 and 18x10.5+45 rim's for my summer setup with a 245 and 275 setup for tires. I am not looking to slam the car. I want to drop the front maybe an inch and level the rear to the front. The rear rim/tire pokes about a 1/4 inch right now so I know if I dropped it to where it tucked it wont tuck...itll shred. That or I'll need a crapload of camber. Either way the tires are destroyed which I dont want.

So when I talked to Z1 performance about everything I told them I wanted the HKS coilovers and hotchkis away bars. He told me if I kept the coils at max or near max height (which is still around an inch drop) then I dont need anything aftermarket as far as camber arms or FUCA's or otherwise.

Is this true?

Let me note the drop I would like is to 26.5 floor to too of fender I think. According to hks website that is well within the "driving range" of adjustment (vs total range).

Mine is set at 26.25", think your plan of 26.5 is great. I would still get the rear camber/toe kit though.

So you are referring to the eccentric camber bolts and new toe arms? I thought toe arms were only used when converting to true type coilovers?

Z1 explicitly states the toe arm replaces the spring bucket

https://www.z1motorsports.com/z1-pro...s-p-12182.html

So wouldn't rather be that I'm supposed to buy the traction and camber arm or just the traction arm and eccentric camber bolts?

Also do I need adjustable swaybar end links or not. Just want to make sure I have everything the first time.

I assumed the HKS set was the OEM setup (spring bucket LCAs w/ separate Springs/shocks). For this setup you should get the camber arms w/ aftermarket (large concentric) toe bolts.

The OEM toe slot/bolt offers minimal adjustment as does the OEM camber arm bolts. Should be able to get those tires/wheels to tuck ok without crazy camber, but you will need those aftermarket arms/bolts to get your camber just right without your toe going of spec.

I've used the full F&R SPC kits for 90k miles now and about 9 years, and they've held up well w/ my alignment locked in at well under spec (camber @ -1).

Interesting findings blnewt, I just called Z1 again to speak about my quote and spoke with a tech. He told me just buy the whole set from them as I'll already have the whole system torn apart from the sways and coils. I guess the final question is whether adjustable end links actually are needed given that I'm not going to "slam" the car.]

As always I appreciate your feedback/help.

The OE rear end links don't like big sway bars when the car is lowered. Mine broke the same day I lowered it. I believe the end link or sway bar hits something and that's just too much for the end link. My passenger side ball cracked and the sway bar yanked the ball/bolt out.

As for toe bolts, I'm lowered maybe an inch-and-a-half and have had no problems getting the toe I want with the stock rear pieces. I do have camber arms both front and rear, though.

KW's wont work because I have a sedan. KW doesn't actually make a sedan kit. It's for the 370z which weighs a lot less in the rear. The G37 sedan will droop significantly with KW coilovers. KW offers currently no proper fix that is warrantied.

Another issue with KW and Bilstein is they don't have separate preload adjusment. German TUV does not allow it on street suspensions. Ergo, adjusting ride height changes preload.
