Lowering the G in NYC

What's up guy need some advice , I've searched n read many reviews on many different brands n set ups for lowering spring n coilovers but cant decide. I live in the bronx n the potholes are every where not to mention the speed bumps. From what I've seen I really like swift lowering springs but being that I have a g37x sedan my strut n shock options are limited. I had a 2005 altima se-r on nismo lowering springs with kyb dampers to get rid off the hideous front wheel gap n the ride was pretty harsh, the front drop was almost 2in cant remember the rear n the 18in low profile tires didnt help. I'm not expecting an OEM ride n totally aware you lose some comfort when lowering your vehicle especially when doing so with springs n dampers that dont match but I dont want to be bouncing around every where so if any one is running swift springs with kyb dampers n you live in an area with bad roads plz pass on some advice n experience, also have no problem buying coilovers but I'm not tracking my car just a sprinted driver so if any one us running coilover in the 600 rang n have had them for some time on mostly bumper roads plz lay out your experience. Thanks in advance.

Swift Springs for the AWD Sedan almost always seem the perfect match for a comfortable & modest drop without going all in with camber kits.

Those wheels in that finish looks fantastic on your car. Nice choice there. Bring that down little more than an inch and it will be perfect.

I am working a Koni solution for the AWD fronts, rear has off the shelf as it’s the same for RWD cars.

Goal is to make a DIY, but still in the proof of concept stage. If you are quicker, it might be an option for you to pursue.

The AWD Sedan sits different than the RWD, so my experience really isn't a match for your situation. Besides, my setup is kind of frankenstein... OEM sport shocks, front lowering springs from Swift (for the RWD Sedan), rear adjustable height springs from a Tein Basis coilover kit, rear SPC camber arms and toe bolts, seasonal spacer adapters.

I'm a diy but not to that extent unfortunately which really sucks because us AWD guys are really taking the boot up the a*$.

Errrr wish this was simple, why can't koni just make them for the 370, coupe n sedan. I really dont want to spend the cash on coils if I can achieve the same drop with swift springs. This is going to take some time but thanks for the info, I was thinking tein, what ya think.

Right now I'm looking at the tein basis or tein flex or kyb with swift.

If you're not interested in dialing in the ride, and just want to adjust the height, then sure. Understand, the full height on the Tein Basis may still be too low for you, probably not, but if all you want is less than an inch, then it's not going to work out. Also, after a few years, my rear Teins started groaning terribly, and I swapped my original Tokico shocks back in. I'm not saying that's normal, it's just what happened to me is all.

It's only simple if you dump a lot of money on a speed shop who makes all your decisions, buys all the parts, and does all the work. Otherwise it's a learning process, like anything. Good luck.

thanks for the info, if the tein can achieve the same drop as the swift springs then that would work but if I wanted to have some level of adjustment I would go with tein flex , can you give me your experience with the tein n hows the roads where you live?? Out here In the city the roads are not forgiving at all. Just want to know if someone has experience on bad roads with the coilovers or springs n could share.

The Tein Basis gives you the same kind of ride as the OEM sport suspension. But I think the Basis is a RWD setup, not for AWD. I keep forgetting about that.
