Clean car after installing new brakes?

You all are going to think I am crazy with this question.

But I just got new brake pads and rotors. Does the lubricant/grease, pads and/or rotors need to wear in any prior to getting them wet with water from hose while washing my wheels?

nope, whatever greased used will wither have enough water resistance to not wash off at all or it will wash off an hour later or a month later...brake grease lube tends to be very tacky and resistant anyways so I wouldn't worry about it.

Also the only parts that need to stay greased/lubed are the contact points between metal surfaces and only exposed grease/lube should wash off (if it does at all) which doesn't matter anyways

To the OP, you'll be washing the car/wheels often if your new pads are the type that produce lots of dust . Assuming of course this actually bothers you.
