Rusty brake calipers and rotor tophats

So like the title says, I've got me some rusty calipers and rotor tophats. If I used rust converter on them (all I can find is tinted black in rattle can), can I then paint with heat resistant paint? In other words, is the rust converter high temp resistant?

The rust converter causes a chemical reaction that changes Fe2O3 (red rust) into Fe3O4 (black rust). Don't think your brakes can get hot enough to reverse the reaction.

I see Corroseal adds a latex primer. You might be able to char that, but the black rust will stay black.

Thanks, but wasn't asking if it would return to rust. I was wondering how good a substrate or primer would it privide? Does it burn or peel off?

If you don't have sport brakes you can wire brush the surface rust off and use high temp enamel engine paint. Rust won't come back and color won't fade
