Both R/L front caliper pins (w/seal) stuck

The guide pin with the internal seal/boot is stuck and will not come out. Anyone tried to remove a stuck pin? Torch?

I'd call a brake repair shop and see what they recommend (unless they just say "bring it in", lol)
Also a 50:50 mix of Acetone/ATF is about the best rust breaking solution, might try soaking them overnight.

It turns but it doesn't come out. Stupidest thing. I've got another set I was trying to sell with <50k mi on them. I will replace the rears also since I fear the dreaded rear seizing up.

did you take the cotter pin out? if it spins, i am not sure why it wouldnt come out. get a screw driver and a hammer and give it a little tapy tap tap. might also hit it with some brake cleaner.

Thanks. I have not seen any rebuild procedure and not seen any cotter pin, roll pin, retaining/e-clip, nothing keeping it in. It's not supposed to stay in. I have used brake cleaner, penetrate, 14mm and hammer, 14mm and pickle fork on an air chisel. The rubber boot has probably been cooked, expanded, and is now hard as a rock and fused to the carrier.

I may cut it up and see WTH is going on. I may use a torch on it with it in a vise and a weight on the pin if I feel like a mad scientist one day before the trash is picked up.

The trash is now in possession of it.

Is there a picture of it in a manual somewhere?

The guide pins on the sport brakes are on top of the retaining pad on the inside. When I put on the stoptech rotor pad kit it came with new pins retaining pad and clips

My non-sport brakes only had one piston in the front. Just replaced brakes and rotors and took a pic.

Yeah, the base sedans have 320mm rotors and two pistons, the base coupe rotors are 330mm and have one piston, go figure???

Same thing happened to my G35. I used a torch to remove it and replaced with new guide pins. It lasted less than 1 brake change. Just replace it with a reman from anybody. Most of the time they use the OEM caliper and just rebuild it. The base caliper is just not worth the time messing with.
