Brake pad and rotor recommendations

Hello Guys! I bought a 2013 G37x sedan about a year ago. It has standard brakes that need replaced. I am going to replace both front and rear. I was happy with the performance of the OEM but wouldn't mind an upgrade. My wife drives the car to work daily so no real need for a dramatic upgrade. I wanted to draw from your experience regarding the best daily driver brakes and where to get them for a good price. Thank you.

Welcome to the site Jerrod!
Check Rockauto.com Centric Premium Rotors have decent rust prevention coating and better venting vs. OEM and Centric Posi-Quiet Ceramic Pads are decent, they will have adequate bite and low dusting. If you want more bite (with more dust) Stoptech Street Pads will get you there (as long as you do a full bed-in of the pads).

CENTRIC 10508880 Front Pads

CENTRIC 10509051 Rear Pads

CENTRIC 12042088 Rear Rotor (307mm)

CENTRIC 12042080 Front Rotor (320mm)

Pads total about $60 and rotors about $165 for about $225 for teh whole 4 wheel kit.

And a 5% Rockauto discount here~

You can check those part #s on Amazon.com, might be even less when you factor in free shipping.

I have a question about the description of the brake pads on RockAuto. If is says "Brembo" does that mean it fits the Akebono calipers as well? The Raybestos and some other pads say "Brembo" brakes and wanted to make sure they would work.

Probably best to check the part #s w/ the company in that case. One would assume Brembos meant the BBK equipped Gs but I'd still double check that those are for Akebono equipped Gs w/ 355mm front/350mm rear rotors.

I'm doing the Akebono break job soon, but I'm only doing the front. I'll get the rears later this summer. Does anyone know if I need to bleed all 4 calipers even though I'm just doing the front?

Nevermind, I'll just do all 4. I need to change all that old fluid out anyway.

Blnewt, Quick question about the Centeic pads part#. When I went to Rockauto the description didn’t list them as being compatible with the X model. Any issue here? I’m looking for the same pad option as OP but want to make sure they’ll work for my G37X. Thanks!

Jerrod I’m due for new pads for my 2012 G37X Sedan. Just wondering how these worked out for you? Did you go with the Centrics? Thanks!

HI. I am also looking to get the StopTech rotors. Did you have any issues (noise/dust/warping) ? Are you happy with them.
