Signs of something rubbing my rear struts

Hello, for a while now whenever I hit a bump going 40+ I hear a scrape coming somewhere from the rear, assuming it was a tire rubbing on my fender or something along those lines. Well tonight I found this... Name: 20160910_224551.jpg

Rim doesn't look like it has any signs of rubbing, and nor does the tire. Any thoughts? Do I need to be concerned about this?

Rim specs are they are 20 inches tall by10" +38. Running 285/30/20. And alignment is good, can post later if needed.

On a side note, I feel my rear struts may be failing. Bumps and dips I used to not scrape, I am now scraping and it is getting worse.

Why did you post this in the coupe forum? It goes in the suspension forum where this very question was asked within the past month. I'm going to ask the mods move this thread.

Maybe because I have a coupe? Why are you being so aggressive about it? Maybe a constructive post would have been more helpful. Such as a link to the thread you mention.

Mods feel free to do what you wish.

Could be the tire, won't take much of a brush w/ a quick moving tire to wear down the paint, and might not notice it on the tire rubber unless you checked it soon after hearing the rub. If you can see back there where the abrasion is, you should be able to tell if it's right at the point where the tire would meet under compression.

So would coilovers stop the rubbing, or do I need a camber/toe kit?

Yeah, if you are running out of spec camber, like around -2 or more, a camber kit to bring camber in spec should give you about 5mm more room.

Aggressive? No. To the point? Yes.

And let me spoon-feed you the answer.

I am a big proponent of folks searching before posting.

And with that, I'm taking a hiatus from the forums. Don't know when I'll be back.

Mods, my question has been answer by blnewt. Fell free to close this thread.

slartibartfast, based on your additude with helping others, I seriously doubt you will be missed in your hiatus. Hopefully when you come back you'll have pulled whatever has you salty, out of your ***.
