End-link Opinions

Next Spring, my mechanic will be swapping in 4.083 rear gears. While working that project, I'm going to have him swap out the OEM diff bushings, since that's a pretty common point of failure on these cars. Also while the back end is taken down, I thought it was a reasonable opportunity to get new rear sway bar end-links. So... years of reading this forum have me thinking Whiteline is a reasonable upgrade over OEM. It's certainly cost-effective, and available at a number of retail outlets.

Then today this cranky old dude commented here how Whiteline end-links are known to fail with common occurrence.



Thought I'd start a thread for current opinions, advice, etc. The topic is sway bar end-links. Anybody want to share their thinking on this?

i have been running SPL endlinks for the past year with 0 issues and i run my car pretty hard all the time..
are the more expensive than others yes..
but you get what you pay for

Approximately $185 for SPL vs. $120 for Whiteline.

A 50% premium is a big shift, but the actual dollars are low, so... fair point, chuckie.

Reading numerous people complain about clunking noises in the SPL links makes me reconsider going back to a long-held opinion that OEM end-links are fine until they fail, and if it's not broken, don't fix it.

Going on about 4 1/2 years and 24K miles since I installed the eibach bars. Still on the OE end links. Haven't had to relube them yet either. Majority of miles are sane. Few road trips here and there each year when I hit the technical roads and really 'drive' the car.

If/when they fail, OE is what's going back on.

Though this doesn't pertain to the longevity, what about adjustable length? Is that a must have or desirable feature for you?

i thought its better to have adjustable end links to pre-load the swaybar when you drop the car?

I have always been of the understanding that you want the endlinks to have zero load when the car is dropped/the weight of the car is on the wheels. Which is why an adjustable endlink is good to have.


I have SPL for the front and whiteline in the rear. I actually think one of the rear whitelines may have broken this past track weekend. I haven't had a chance to get under the car to verify yet though; will report back when I do.

I went with Whiteline due to the happiness I have had with their suspension parts on past builds. I will say I was not impressed with the apparent "stoutness" (lack there of) of the end-links; but I've tracked with them a few times, put about 20k miles on them, and they have not bent or broken. So take it for what you want.

Similar story here, Jsolo. 3 1/2 years and 20K miles since I installed the Eibach sway bars... although my car is conservatively dropped. 32K miles total on the car, with original end-links front and back.

I was just thinking proactively about the end-links, that's all. Perhaps I'm over-thinking it. Wouldn't be the first (or last) time I've done that.

You start this thread at the perfect time! I spent all weekend deciding what suspension components I'm going to purchase along with my coilovers. Camber arms, toe rods, control arms, etc...

End links are also up there, just don't know which aftermarket end links will work for the front on an AWD G37.

Have had my Whiteline end links for over 2 years now. They are solid quality, Kyle from IPP gave me a great deal on these with some bushings too. Only issue is you will hear come clicks/noise if you do not load (or unload) the sways properly...as mine are now after recent tweaking...but this is with any adjustable link.
Seeing as the market is not too broad for aftermarket, my advice would be stick with stock until you need the adjust-ability.
