AWD Swift springs help!

Got the front struts out, compressed the spring with compressors, how on earth do you get the top nut off the shock? for the life of me I can't get it loose!

There are flats on the side of the shaft end for an open-end wrench. My Mk.I eyeball estimates 11mm. This prevents the shaft from rotating as you work on the nut. Then use a wrench to loosen the shaft nut.

Some people have had luck using an impact drill to loosen the nut without having to use a wrench to hold the shaft.

Best of luck.

also put your body weight on it so theres downward pressure to get it loose. it'll pop loose on the first turn. then twist normally.
