Had the same problem. Move jack to the bolt hole to try and line it up. I had to use two jacks one regular and the oem scissor.

Takes finesse. Two jacks is best so that you can manipulate the lower arm and the knuckle independently. Also, a long rod or bolt or even a screwdriver can aid to stick in there and line them up so the bolt will go through easier. Once lined up, start the bolt and tap it with a dead blow hammer. Be careful not to force it and damage the threads while getting it in there. Like I said, patience and finesse.

Make sure the car has a jack stand under the frame.

Pros use a line up bar, that is a pry bar with a tapered pointed end to wiggle in the hole.

Also move the jack more to front or rear, as to cause the arm to tilt/twist in a better position.

still no luck, I can't believe I've been sitting here trying to line up a bolt for 2.5 hours. it's like the control arm just catches the knuckle and then I can't move it anymore, it just raises the whole car. thanks everyone though

Also, to get the holes to lineup I would grab something long (like a screwdriver) that can go through both sides and move it up or down to see exactly where the threads line up with the hole. Takes some patience but it will happen, trust me.

You are going to need to push in on the arm as you lift it up.

I took a long screwdriver to mine and a little leg press action, lined up perfect. I can now change both springs out in less than 10 min.
