I just had my front right wheel bearing replaced under warranty for making a ton of noise, 2012 with 50k miles on it.

Yeah that's ridiculous, I wouldn't get it installed at the dealer either, I would go to a good reputable shop locally, wheel bearing isn't that serious to install! Trust me no need for dealer for bearings installation save your money for something else. I think about 60 per side is reasonable or a bit more

I replaced the front bearings on my x sedan at around 77k miles with Timkens from Rock auto...one failed in less than a year and was replaced under warranty by Rockauto with no hassles. Now after another 50 miles the one that was good failed...I got the Timkins over cheaper alternatives because I thought they may be better quality. They seemed to be machined better and a bunch of people allued to them being OEM suppliers. While they're definitely good enough, I'm not convinced on the quality 100%. the good news is the Timkens are much cheaper than they used to be so the difference between them and the cheapest ones is only a few dollars now. One caveat to my experience; mine have all failed around march at the end of winter where the temperature swings wildly and our roads are salted like crazy so that may be contributing to the high failure rate of an already failure prone part on these cars .... there was DIY on this with some product comparisons i'll look for a link...

Perfect timing for this thread. My car started making the bad wheel bearing noise a couple of weeks ago. I'll give these a try but OEM's are about 145 a side

Just bought a Timken front set (L&R) from AutoAnything for $150 shipped FedEx Overnight.

A lot of members here recommend Rockauto but honestly navigating that site is kind of frustrating to me so I always go there and end up shopping else where. However, just sharing the news..

Havent received the Timken front set yet so I cant speak on them but I hope they hold up like OEM's as recommended. Im at 100k on BC's and 20s just trying to preserve my baby as long as possible..

Timken does make the OEM bearings. I have used them before and was very happy with them.

This is an old thread, but just in case it helps someone:

on my old G35 when I replaced my wheel bearings and something else on the car can't remember what, the original parts were Timken, the part number and Timken was written on the wheel bearing.

Now looking for a wheel bearing for my g37.. hope it's the same thing.
