G37x brake questions
For those of you who upgraded the brakes did you upgrade the caliber also??? Or just rotor/pads/lines and fluid????
How good are the non sport calibers?
This is what I'm thinking of getting? Any input is great to hear https://www.z1motorsports.com/brakes/z1-motorsports/z1-370z-g37-non-sport-brake-upgrade-package-p-4671.html

Lorentzoe, you'll also need new wheels if you don't have the OEM Infiniti wheels that will clear the big sport brakes and also a new spare tire.
You can get the BBK for quite a bit less if you source the parts this way~

I think I have desided to just buy the kit listed above. Slotted only rotor, hps pads, 600 fluid. Also I added a z1 silicone brake booster hose since I'm replacing the other lines and it looks cool I guess. I'll let y'all know the results. Just not sure on spending the extra 800-1000 for the calipers when for what I use the car for the oem work fine. My rear pads are at maybe 10% so figured I'd change everything. Also I get a brake light on my car a lot on the speedo that comes on during acceleration and goes away when slowing wayyyyy down. Anybody seen this before?

Brake light comes on during acceleration and also I have another light that comes on after getting on it ? It looks just like the traction control light but in the picture tcs is on. Obviously when it's off there would be another yellow car icon. So is the one that's on currently like stability control or something?

+1 ^^^^^
I had the same thing just after I took delivery of my G. I added like four tablespoons of fluid and haven't had the light come back yet.
I'm not the best person to respond about upgrading the calipers, but IMO it's a nice, but unneeded, upgrade. The OEM non-sport brakes work just fine. But if you like modding and beautiful hardware....well....I say do it.

^ I went with Akebonos because they look amazing behind my 19" black wheels. If you're planning on keeping stock or stock-like wheels, not only is there no reason to upgrade, you can't fit them. They do stop like hell, but I also went with much more aggressive pads than stock (Hawk HPS). Nothing like getting your face pulled off when you stomp on the brake pedal.
It's all cost/benefit and what's important to you. Appearance vs cost vs stopping power vs weight... etc.

I went with the hps also, just think the calipers are pretty good now atleast for me. I'd rather that 700-800 extra go toward coil overs or a cam or something
Both on my old G37x non-sport and my current Q50 non-sport I replaced the stock rotors and pads with parts from XtremeStop. The rotors are drilled and slotted. All the rear-end vibration goes away, no brake fade, far superior brake pedal feel and no rain performance degradation.
You can do it with labor and parts for about $900 Canadian or $600 USD. A very decent deal versus spending 50% more on a BBK which only addresses the front of the car. Remember...law of diminishing returns.

Sweet i'm in for any improvements!!! really id be ok even it is not that much better performance wise just scared about really driving the car hard when the brake light comes on all the time and only 10% left in rear.
Now if only i can get the rear more stiff id be set....

Yep I got hotchkis front and rear. Those made night and day difference. Also have the strut tower brace. Currently pricing out coil overs now that would would good with what I have done so far
Also Lorenzo to answer your questions about the brakes I would recommend saving some money and upgrading your breaks this way especially if you don't care about aesthetics in the mean time. This route will be fine unless you plan on doing some heavy track days with real technical turns and braking spots. But you may also have nothing to worry about if you upgrade the break fluid as well and include some stainless steel brake lines.
Also you can part an brake upgrade this style much cheaper by using sites like rockauto and the sorts. But Z1 does have a rock solid setup if you dont want to search and worry about everything matching cause they are selling it as basically a compatible kit
Check out the K Sports, seems to be about the best option at the $1k price point and they use the True rear coilover setup (shock & spring together instead of separated) as this seems to be a source for the noises in the AWD platform.
