It will take them 15 min. but they will charge you for 30 min. I would just ask them to swap the springs and don't even waste the time to rent and bring back for the front as you will not need them on the rear.

I did have one other issue was I had to use vise grips on the front shock at the top to keep the shaft from spinning to get the top nut off on just one side.
So do the easy install for the rear and just go to a shop and get them to replace the fronts? I might just do that. I don't wanna do any pounding at all lol.

Thanks for link! I'll look into it some more. So I might as well install it as soon as I install the springs.

You will not need any compressor for the rear. The lower rear ctrl arm just will swing down when you remove the bolts from the hub. The fronts are really not possible with rent-a-compressors for progressive springs with struts in the middle.

Do a search on the process or get the FSM here. blnewt is the "G"-wiz and knows where all that stuff is.

Looking good, did you do the whole job or did you let a shop do the R&R on the front springs?

Did the whole job with the help of a buddy of mine. I looked around for quotes on installation from shops but either got a no from them or the price tag was at least $200 for just the fronts and $300 for both front and rear. I said to hell with it and rented a spring compressor and bought a corded electric impact wrench and spent all day doing a DIY thanks to these forums. Once I annoyingly figured out how to compress the the front springs it was a breeze after that. The price of the impact wrench and rental of the compressor replaced the cost of labor, which I'm happy about because I feel more attached to my Gina and didn't have to spend extra hard earned green. All I had to deal with was the time and effort.

I ended up pounding the clamps around the new springs to get the maximum compression in order to screw on the top nut through the threads of the strut.
