Hi, wife has a 12 g37x sedan. Lately, the tcs light has been coming on and staying on. Car starts fine, no warning lights. Drive a few miles, the red 'BRAKE' light illuminates for about 5 seconds, then the tcs light comes on and the 'BRAKE' light disappears with the tcs light staying on until the car is shut off. This doesn't happen every time it's driven. Maybe happens once every 5 trips. It's under warranty. Any idea what could be causing this? I know if I take it in for warranty work, they pry won't be able to duplicate it with my luck. Thought I'd try this forum first, then the dealer...

 

The first thing that people recommend is to check your brake fluid level.

If it were mine I'd have the dealer check it out

If you are under warranty why not take it in?

That happened to me, so I took it into the dealer. Turns out it was a wheel sensor. Dealer said it would have cost me nearly $1k, but luckily I was under warranty!

 

Thanks for the replies. I did check the brake fluid. It's above min but below max. I think I'll talk to the dealership before I do anything. Like I said, the car pry won't duplicate the issue and it'll be a wasted trip...

 

They should still be able to diagnose the issue by pulling the trouble codes that caused this lights to illuminate.
