Nismo 370 suspension on coupe?

Awhile back there was discussion about putting NISMO shocks and springs on a G37 coupe supposedly yielding a 1/2 to 1 inch drop and firmer ride. Any one done this?

Probably would fit, but remember there is a weight difference between these two cars and in different areas. Good luck,

Al

The reason I asked is because I was fairly sure someone from this forum had bought a complete NISMO supension from the 370 forums with the intention of doing such a swap. I was curious if they had, and if so how it turned out. I too had thought about the weight difference between the cars.

This was talked about a bit on the Sedan side a year ago (give or take), the Z springs seem to drop about 3/4"to 1" so it would be a decent option for a mild drop, and if the Nismo struts/shocks are indeed upgraded units the overall setup would be solid. Here's a thread w/ a regular Z suspension installed on a G, so going by this I assume the Nismo set would be about the same drop but a firmer set.

I have Koni Yellows for the 370Z on my sedan, so yes, it will fit. I'd probably stay with springs specific for the coupe because of weight differences, but thats just my opinion.

How much does the NISMO suspension go for?

I have seen them go from 400 to 800 depending on mileage and the sellers grasp on reality.

$400 would seem to be a deal. $800 is Koni range.

... I'm resurrecting this.

So, Lego_Maniac, did you end up doing this, and if so, what's the feedback?

Thank you.

End up doing what?

I installed Koni Yellows on my sedan back in 2014.

If you can get a low mileage set of NISMO dampers at a reasonable price, I'd say go for it. But $800 for used shocks seems like a lot, that would almost get you into a NEW Koni setup, or at the very least, used Konis. And remember, Koni shocks can be rebuilt and offer adjustability, the NISMO setup doesn't.
