Probably a repeated question about springs...
I have been searching off and on all day today to see if I can find the answer to my question but I am either partially stupid (highly likely) or partially distracted (also highly likely) and can't seem to find my answer. So please forgive me if this has been covered before.
I have a 2011 X sedan and just picked up a set of used Swift Springs. My question: do you need camber kits to install with these springs or can you just install and go? I previously had an 11 Maxima with Eibach Pro Kit springs and that didn't need to have a camber kit. The rear tires were technically within Nissan's specs but it was at the outer edge of the green range and had just a little bit of camber. Nothing that was serious at all, though.
So what's the deal? Would appreciate the help greatly!
Thanks,
Jeremy

After a week of letting them settle you can check your alignment to see if you will need a camber kit. As I have read from others, others get lucky and don't need a camber kit when they see the alignment sheet and others do need it. I have had swifts on for about a year and a half and haven't put on a camber kit yet. I am just a little out of the range but now I just received my camber kit and will be putting it on shortly to get my alignment perfect. With swift springs you may want to get spacers if you want the wheels to be flush with the car. You won't have to get it immediately but if it is out of range then you may want to consider putting it on sooner than later to preserve your tires.
Jeremy,
I would recommend to have the Swifts installed first and then determine if the camber kits are required.
I've had my Swifts for almost 2 years without any camber kits and just recently had my stock tires mounted on aftermarket wheels and there was no detection of any uneven wear.
I have a neg 2% camber and only a slight bit out of range...actually a bit of camber is good for handling.
Here is my alignment:

Spacers are not required, but help to push the wheels flush to the edge of the wheel well...this mod is usually for vehicles that are riding on stock wheels.
I'm probably the only exception in this case...I kept the spacers on after going with stock size aftermarket wheels to be able to mount the stock tires onto them.

I hope this helps.

I have a square set up, so they should all be pretty even.
Plus I'm not going to pay them to do another alignment just to balance them so they will be the same...don't call me cheap, call me broke!
I'm not sure if it really would make a huge difference, since I get my tires rotated at every oil change...front to back and side to side...crisscross...crisscross.

Just something to think about next time you get aligned
Thanks everyone. This was the same recommendation for the Maxima. Install the springs and see if you need the camber kit. I didn't need it on the Maxima. Hopefully I won't need it on my G. I'm not opposed to spending the money on it, but I don't like spending money that I don't have to either.
As for spacers, I will not be lowering the car until I get my aftermarket wheels. And I can't get those until I sell my M56S wheels. So it may be a little while. It has been on my mind this week so I thought I'd post about it.
Thanks again!

Mine are also out of spec, but the left and right sides match within a 10th degree, which if I were to expect anything it would be that.
BTW, I have the fronts off the car temporarily, and don't see any unusual or uneven tread wear on these new PSS after 3000 miles. Don't know about the rears yet.

What probably happened is the alignment shop got things as close to spec as possible, but didnt go the extra distance and go back and readjust camber to equal the opposite side.
I'm out of spec in the rear, but equally out of spec.
Don't get me wrong, but performance/handling is also a major concern to me.
I have not experience any variable differences between rotations, so I don't think that the difference in camber has effected the handling...not that I'm an expert/professional driver.
I appreciate all the advice that has been suggested and probably will get another alignment done elsewhere...as a second opinion.
Maybe get it closer to spec in the process.
Thanks!
